HOUSTON and LOUISVILLE, Ky., Feb. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- NX Prenatal Inc., a privately held women's healthcare molecular diagnostic company, announced today that new clinical study data will be presented at the Society of Reproductive Investigation's (SRI) 65^th Annual Scientific Meeting in San Diego, California, on March 9th, 2018.  The oral presentation will describe results from a study of plasma samples obtained from pregnant mothers demonstrating proteomic biomarkers that are already unique in their expression profiles at 10-12 weeks gestation among women who go on to experience preeclampsia (PE).

The new study builds upon a series of previously published studies in which NX Prenatal has demonstrated that the enrichment of exosome and microvesicle particles from maternal blood and subsequent proteomic analysis enables risk stratification of spontaneous preterm birth (SPTB) in the first trimester of pregnancy.

PE can strike quickly, sometimes without any symptoms, potentially causing severe and immediate complications for the mother and fetus.  In the U.S., it is reported to affect 200,000 pregnant women and is estimated to cause approximately $10 billion in healthcare costs.
